
Walter A. Bacigalupo, Jr. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother
Walter A. Bacigalupo, Jr. passed away unexpectedly but peacefully Friday December 20th with his loving wife Norma (Nicolai) McGowan by his side in Pelham, NH at the age of 81. Born in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Walter Bacigalupo, Sr. and the late Ernestine (Nassano) Bacigalupo, Walter graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1961 and continued his education at Boston College, earning his degree in 1965 and later completing a Master’s in 1970. During his time at Northeastern, he met his beloved Mary, whom he married in 1967. They shared a life together until her passing in 2001. A few years later, Walter found love again and married Norma in 2011.
Having lived for many years in Lowell before moving to Pelham in retirement. Walter worked for 30 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a variety of agencies. He was an advocate for services for families and children mostly though the Department of Mental Health as an Assistant Area Director of Services. Retiring in 2003, he spent his retirement more active than ever traveling with Norma, writing poetry, being active in many groups, and working for the Arc of Greater Haverhill-Newburyport, Inc.
Walter was many things to many people: a husband to two incredible women, a father to his three children, a stepfather to Norma’s children, a proud grandfather, a dedicated son and brother, an uncle, an advocate, a poet, a mentor, a friend to many and always the most fun person at a party. He leaves a legacy of positivity, advocacy, and love to all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife Norma (Nicolai) McGowan of Pelham, NH, his children Patricia Bacigalupo and her husband Andy Curtis of Winter Park, FLA, Mike Bacigalupo of North Chelmsford, MA, his step son Stephen McGowan and his wife Dawnmarie Brown-McGowan, his stepson Brian McGowan and his wife Tracey Correia-McGowan and his granddaughter Abbey McGowan of Pelham, NH, his brother Edward Bacigalupo and his wife Martha Bonneville Bacigalupo of Boston, MA, his sister Barbara Bacigalupo of Burlington MA, and his many nieces and nephews and their children.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary (Dockett) Bacigalupo, and his son Walter Bacigalupo.
Friends may call on Friday December 27, 2024, at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 4 to 7 P.M.. Thomas P. Casserly Beloved companion, brother, and godfather
Thomas P. Casserly, 81, of Lowell, Massachusetts, died on Friday, December 13, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Portland, ME, the son of the late Thomas J. and the late Mary E. (Decker) Casserly, he attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School, class of 1962. Prior to his retirement, Tom worked as a flight engineer for Trans East Airlines in Bedford, MA for several years.
Among his interests, Tom enjoyed vacationing in the Caribbean, gardening, yard work, and home improvement projects. Tom was a skilled handyman and never met a project he couldn't tackle. He enjoyed the outdoors, including spending time with friends at Long Pond and going on walks with his dogs.
Tom is survived by his sister, Ellen Casserly of Lowell, MA; his significant other, Candice Connell of Westford, MA; and his godson, Daniel R. Wojcik, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Dracut, MA.

Charles W. Karayianis Beloved father, brother, cousin and friend;
Charles W. “Chuck” Karayianis, 72, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away at his home on Thursday December 12, 2024. Born in Lewiston, Maine on June 23, 1952, the son of the late William and the late Amalea (Linardos) Karayianis, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1970. He went on to attend Antioch College.
Before his retirement, Chuck spent many years as an addictions counselor and he touched many lives during that time and after. He was very proud of his 30+ years of sobriety.
Active with his church, the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell, Chuck was a former choir director and church board member. His faith was important to him, and it showed in the way he cared for others.
Among his many interests, Chuck enjoyed cooking delicious Greek foods, singing with his beautiful bass voice, and spending time with his friends and family. He was always the first to get up and start the Greek dancing, and he made everyone feel welcome to join him. He had an infectious smile and laugh, a kind and genuine soul, and his greatest joy came from serving others.
Charles is survived by his daughter Amelia B. Karayianis of Somerville, MA; his sister Sharon Karayianis of Hawaii; and several cousins and dear friends.

Matthew Samuel Fitzpatrick Beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend;
Matthew Samuel Fitzpatrick, age 53, formerly of Lowell and now living in Chatham, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 3, 2024, at Falmouth Hospital on Cape Cod. He was the loving husband of Jennifer McAllister Fitzpatrick, who survives him. Born in Bronxville, New York, January 1, 1971, he was the only son of Attorney Joseph S. and Mary Ellen (Pollard) Fitzpatrick, now living in Chatham Mass. In addition to his wife and parents, Matt was the proud father of his two daughters Kailee Anne and Nicole Erin Fitzpatrick and their mother Elaine Burba Fitzpatrick. He is also survived by his sister Erin Fitzpatrick Aiken and her husband Eamonn and two nephews Gabriel and Eugene of Leesburg, Virginia. The only grandson of former Lowell Mayor Samuel S. Pollard and his grandmother Helen Callahan Pollard, Matt was a graduate of St Johns Prep School in Danvers, then graduated from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and the Certified Financial Planner program at Boston University. He began his career at Norcross and Leighton Inc in Lowell and later was associated in financial management at Enterprise Bank and later at New England Wealth Management Inc.
Matt was involved with many local nonprofits including the Young Professionals of Greater Lowell and the Pollard Memorial Library where he helped establish a visiting authors program. Most recently he was Managing Director of Salt Works Energy Inc.
An avid boat's man, Matt was a licensed pilot and was happiest boating along the Massachusetts coast teaching boating and water safety. He also had a serious interest in music, especially the music of the 80-90s and enjoyed playing in a band with his friends.
Since his early days in school Matt enjoyed writing and in the past eight years was the author of four books the most recent novel focusing on his love of Chatham and all things Irish.
