Leonora L. “Lucia” Langerman
Leonora L. “Lucia” Langerman, 61, of Lowell, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on July 26, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital.
Lucia was born in Cannes Alpes-Maritimes, France, on February 24, 1959.
As a Pisces, Lucia loved everything about water: fishing, being on a boat, toes in the sand on the beach. She grew up in the 80s and was reared on rock & roll (she was trying to learn to love both Cold Play and Josh Groban as she got older!). She loved to travel and to learn from different cultures and histories. Her dream day was spent with a suspense novel or autobiography at the beach.
Lucia worked full-time for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in Boston, MA in the Office of the Regional Administrator. She was a determined, hard-working and devoted employee. She traveled to work from Lowell to Boston on the T every day even in the depths of winter. Lucia was diagnosed at 15 with a slow-progressing form of muscular dystrophy. When she was 34, she was in an accident from which she never recovered due to her disease. She remained wheelchair bound for the remainder of her life.
Lucia was loved by many and she extended herself to many especially her godchild Kyle Farwell.
Lucia is survived by her mother, Yolanda Langerman Mazzarisi of Jackson, New Jersey. She was predeceased by her long-time companion of 23 years, Ronald S. Aronson also of Lowell.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions all funeral services were private. E-condolences can be made at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com. All are welcome to participate in a ZOOM Memorial on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. To receive access to the ZOOM link please send your request to Barbara Manning at
